Sauteed Sesame Kale

Ingredients


1 bunch of kale (wash, remove leaf from stem, tear/cut into bite size pieces)

1 tsp sesame seeds

5 garlic scapes (cut into 1” pieces) or 2 cloves of garlic (minced)

1 tsp sesame oil

1 tsp of Bragg’s or soy sauce/tamari



Directions


1.  Toast the sesame seeds by cooking them on high heat in a dry pan. Watch them closely and stir constantly until they brown - 1-2 minutes.  Set aside.

2.  If you are using garlic scapes, start with sauteing them in a large frying pan with a splash of sesame oil on med to high heat for 10 mins until the are tender.  If using garlic cloves, mince and saute with kale.

3.  Toss washed, still wet kale into frying pan, splash with a couple sprays of Bragg’s and cover immediately.  Cook on med/high for 3 min, remove lid and stir.  Recover and cook for 4-5 more mins.  Taste for tenderness and season with more Braggs, if desired. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and enjoy!
